Laptop Repair - CSD Computers - 905-608-9935

We were asked to discuss the most common hardware issues that our customers bring into our business so, today we are going to discuss common laptop hardware issues. They are 1) Laptop has no power and 2) No display on my notebook screen.

1) Laptop has no power: The first thing you want to do is to check if, the notebook is on. If, that doesn’t work chances are that you need to replace your AC power adapter or notebook battery. If, replacing the AC power adapter or battery doesn’t work my suggestion is to take it to your local trusted computer technician to diagnose what the issue is because you don’t want to cause any further damage to your laptop/notebook.

2) No Display on screen. First, check if, your laptop is powered up. If, its powered up and you still don’t get any display on your screen then the most common issue is either the lcd screen needs to be replaced or the inverter needs to be replaced. I would recommend that you then take it to your local computer technician to diagnose the problem.

Generally, when the problem gets diagnosed by the computer technician depending if, it’s a major issue such as the motherboard I would then recommend getting a new notebook/laptop instead of repairing it. This all depends on how old the current notebook/laptop is.

Computer Repair - Having Issues With Your Wireless Internet Connection?

Having Issues With Your Wireless Internet Connection?

Wired versus Wireless that is a common question I receive at our place of business. My answer is that it depends. What I mean by this is that not all wireless internet connections are made equal.

If, you’re having issues with your wireless internet connection it can be because a number of things such as your hardware, computer or the internet network you’re with and the location of your residence. I suggest you call your local internet company and diagnose your internet connection with their technical support team before you decide to make any major changes to your computer hardware.

Then if, that doesn’t solve your problems I would consider replacing your wireless card and or upgrade your wireless router to the latest version. In the case you do this and still have issues with your wireless connection I suggest you do what I did which is to go back to wired.

Going back to a wired internet connection can be aesthetically frustrating and not as convenient for moving around within your primary residence or workplace but the reliability will be worth it. This will be very beneficial to people who depend on their connection for their business or school where time can be of the essence.

Sometimes, your geographic location can influence your internet connection so, no matter what hardware changes you make to try to improve your wireless connection it will still not be as reliable as you need or expect it to be. In this case I would recommend going back to a wired internet connection.

All The Best,
